Kaiserhof (Emperor's Court)
For exclusive events
From 1612 to 1618, Duke Maximilian I commissioned numerous building works around the Kaiserhof. The north wing comprised entrance and reception rooms. The Emperor's Staircase led to the first floor and Kaisersaal (Emperor's Hall) with adjacent Vierschimmelsaal (Four Greys Hall).
The apartments in the east and west wings (today the Trier Rooms and Stone Rooms) were designed for guests. The sequence of rooms in the west wing was reserved for imperial visitors.
Once opened only on high-ranking ceremonial occasions, today the Emperor's Courtyard can be used for open-air events.
